This valley has long been recognised as one of the most romantic places in England and provides guests with an exclusive and relaxing hideaway surrounded by private woods and hills many miles of walks from a gentle stroll round the estate trails to a 20 mile trek along the Cotswolds Way. Situated in the Royal Triangle in the heart of the Cotswolds hills the historic cities of Bath Cheltenham and Cirencester are all within an easy drive as are the cultural and scenic attractions of Oxford Blenheim Palace and Stratford Upon Avon which are popular day excursions. An ideal base for the Horse Trials at Badminton and Gatcombe Park and racing at Cheltenham. National Trusts Newark Park is a few miles away as well as many historic houses including Berkeley Castle Chavenage House and Sudeley Castle. The choice of attractions and things to see and do is huge and you will need to return to see and explore it all. Amenities: both properties have ample parking. Bed linen towels electric and night storage heating included. Wi-Fi is available outside the estate office. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome. Additional info: there is a restaurant on site which is closed on a daily basis but can be pre-booked for groups of 15 people or more by prior arrangement. However there is delicious home-cooked take away food available from the office. Please phone the office 24 hours in advance of your stay if you require take away food.The restaurant manor and cottages also adapt well and are occasionally used as an unforgettable setting for weddings gatherings of friends meetings and corporate events. Laundry service available (extra charge applies). Short breaks available commencing on either a Monday or Friday. Location: pub and shop 1 mile in village of Uley. Arrival: 3.30pm. Built of Cotswolds stone and having magnificent southerly views this cottage offers THREE bedrooms: 1 double 1 twin and 1 single room. Bathroom: with bath shower attachment and WC. Downstairs WC and adjacent washing machine. Lounge: with open fire and TV/DVD. Dining room: separate. Kitchen: with electric cooker hob dishwasher microwave larder with fridge/freezer and tumble dryer. Outside: private garden with views over the valley and seating area.

The city of Gloucester, for example, is where William the Conqueror ordered the creation of the Domesday Book and the magnificent cathedral here has many connections with the Norman kings of England. With our Gloucestershire cottage holidays, you’re just a short drive away. Make sure Berkeley Castle is also on your itinerary. This 12th century castle has been owned by the Berkeley family since its foundation and is now a fine stately home, packed with art treasures, tapestries, silver, porcelain and furniture.
Then there’s elegant, genteel Cheltenham, with its grand terraces, much frequented by the lords and ladies of Georgian times and now home to some very smart shops. Or step back in time to Tewkesbury, where timbered buildings sit crowded on the banks of the rivers Avon and Severn.
